DENUDED: Destruction of kurinji habitat near Madupetty by fire and other biotic
interferences. The first picture was taken in 2002. This group of
plants had a 12-year flowering cycle off by four years from the main
crop of plants flowering in 2006. The second picture was taken in
March 2006. An estate of Tata Tea Ltd. is in the foreground. A
eucalyptus plantation of the estate and a patch of shola forest is
behind the tea garden. The shola can also be seen in the first picture from a closer range.
