Pine plantation at Vagamon catches fire
Fire at Vagamon
VAGAMON, February 23, 2012:

Extensive areas of pine plantations of the Forest Department at Vagamon were destroyed in a fire today.

In the absence of firelines and large amount of dry needles and cones from the pines, the fires spread far and wide through the plantation. Many of the trees were burned.

The Department had developed the plantation on the rolling grasslands at Vagamon. The plantation as well as the grasslands had caught fire in 2007.
