Visitors at RajamalaMunnar is Jam packed

MUNNAR:
Crowds converging on Rajamala—the tourist zone of the Eravikulam National Park, are causing heavy  traffic jams all along the route from Munnar.

Nearly 6000 people a day visited the Park during the Pooja holidays and many had to return without seeing kurinji. Most did not know that there are other locations where neelakurinjis have flowered gregariously.

The Park had earlier introduced a transport system to ferry visitors from Munnar town to park. However, this was abandoned following protests from taxi operators and others. This led to major traffic jams while hotels and restaurants had their hay day.
